Ajman is the perfect destination for a peaceful beach retreat. With 20 miles of talcum powder sand stretching along the Persian Gulf coast, it's the perfect spot for a relaxing day in the sun. The 18th century fort is also a must-see, with its big, circular watchtowers either side of the entrance and its collection of historic artefacts. For a more modern experience, the City Centre mall offers plenty of shops, fast food outlets and a cinema that shows films in English. And if you're looking for a bit more excitement, Dubai is just 40 minutes away. There you can find The Walk, Wild Wadi Waterpark, Ski Dubai and sandy beaches, as well as the world's tallest building.
