A trip to the Greek island of Kos promises a unique mix of history, stunning scenery and an abundance of beaches. With a coastline stretching over 290 kilometres, you'll find something to suit every taste, from golden swathes lined with beach bars to hidden coves and bays. Inland, you'll discover whitewashed villages, wild flowers and Mount Dikeos, which is dotted with pine forests and castles. Kos offers two very different sides to it. For nightlife, head to Kardamena, where you'll find karaoke bars and English pubs. Kos Town is also lively, with harbour-side dinners and dancing in the backstreets. Kefalos is a great mix of old and new, with its sugar-cube houses, ancient ruins and timeworn windmills, as well as the purpose-built resort of Kamari, with its cafés, bars and restaurants. For a quieter holiday, Psalidi is the perfect spot, with its golden sandy beach and a few tavernas and shops.
