The weather in Croatia in October is very mild, almost all across the country. It remains warm along the coast in places such as Split and Dubrovnik, with average daily temperatures of around 18°C, whereas inland places such as the capital city of Zagreb usually remains around 12°C.

What should I pack for a holiday in Croatia in October?
If you're travelling to Croatia's coast in October, especially to places like Split, you can pack t-shirts, shorts and dresses for the day and then light trousers and jackets for the evening. Some days get even hotter than 18°C, so you might even be able to get away without wearing a jacket, but it's a good idea to bring one just in case. In Zagreb, for example, you will likely need a jacket and long sleeve clothing even during the day, as it tends to be much cooler inland.

Croatia in October is arguably the best month to visit as the weather is still very pleasant but there are far fewer crowds than during the summer months. The months of July and August in Croatia are usually teeming with tourists, whereas it is much quieter in October, but everything still remains open until the slow season starts in November/December.

What's the temperature like in Croatia during October?
The temperature reaches around 16℃ during the daytime in October, falling away to 6℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
