January is typically the coolest month in Jamaica, although we use the term cool in a relative sense! Expect heat, with the temperature hitting about 27℃ during the day, falling away to a balmy 21℃ at night. Of course, the high humidity will make it feel even hotter. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.

For comparison, the wettest months in the UK typically sees between 80mm and 100mm, depending on where you are. A week spent in Jamaica with Falcon Holidays. I travelled to Montego Bay on the Thomson Airways 787 Dreamliner and stayed at the 5* all inclusive Grand Palladium Jamaica Hotel in Lucea (pronounced Lucy...WHO KNEW?!). Falcon are offering direct flights from Dublin to Jamaica Summer 2016 here......
