Sports fans should head to the north of the city to the Olympiapark, where the iconic canopy-topped stadium from the 1972 Olympic Games is located. Finally, Munich is home to the only real Oktoberfest, where Bavarians don traditional dress and descend on the Theresienwiese for a spot of merriment, with big steins of beer served by different famous German breweries in their respective tents.
